Today, we honour the memory and enduring legacy of Troy Scott—a beloved Innisfil resident, dedicated business owner, and tireless community builder.Troy was known across our town for his boundless generosity, quiet kindness, and an unwavering commitment to helping his neighbours. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of giving continues to feed, comfort, and unite Innisfil every single day.

The Troy Scott Community Fridges
In June 2021, the Town of Innisfil launched a community fridge pilot program to tackle local food insecurity, make healthy food accessible, and reduce the stigma often associated with seeking food support.
Following his passing, the project was beautifully renamed the Troy Scott Community Fridges in October 2021. It is a fitting tribute to a man who spent his life ensuring no one in his community was left behind. What started as a single fridge has grown into a vital lifeline with three 24/7 accessible locations across town:
- Innisfil Recreational Complex (North entrance)
- ideaLAB & Library – Cookstown Branch (West side)
- ideaLAB & Library – Lakeshore Branch (West side)
Operating on a simple, dignified "neighbours helping neighbours" model, anyone can take what they need, when they need it, no questions asked.
As proud supporters of this initiative, the Innisfil Rotary Club invites our members and residents to keep Troy’s vision alive. The fridges rely entirely on the community to stay stocked. Here is how you can get involved:
🥕 Give Food
Drop off fresh produce, non-perishable items, or sealed goods directly at any of the three fridge and pantry locations.
👩🍳 Volunteer in the Kitchen
Join the Neighbours Helping Neighbours program! Volunteers gather to prepare meals for the community fridges at the Horodynsky Community Kitchen inside the Rizzardo Health and Wellness Centre.
A Legacy of Kindness
Troy Scott showed us what it truly means to build a community from the heart. The Innisfil Rotary Club is deeply grateful to help champion this initiative alongside the Scott family, local businesses, and our incredible neighbours.
